April 6 Posh Wedding Posh Spice and David Beckham have announced details of the plans for their Irish wedding ceremony. As you might expect, the pair wont be cutting any corners and the event will carry all the trademarks of their unique style. On July 4 the church near Dublin Castle will be decorated with a special coat of arms which has been designed for the event. Apparently this will feature the Premiership trophy, a swan, golden crown and the couples initials above the words Love and Friendship. Guests have received parchment invitations, laced with gold leaf politely informing them that the use of cameras is not allowed exclusive press rights having allegedly been sold to the celebrity magazine OK! for a sum in the region of 1m. Guests will meet near Posh Spices parents house in Hertfordshire and travel via luxury coach and Sea Cat to their destination, most, no doubt, anticipating the reception for 500 which will take place at a castle after the ceremony. April 2 - Church Fury At Beckham Christ Pose David Beckham has sparked an unholy row by posing for a controversial Easter photo-shoot draped in crucifixes. Church leaders reacted with disbelief on Tuesday night at the England superstar's appearance on the front cover of Time Out magazine under the heading "The resurrection of David Beckham". Dressed all in white, three crosses and sets of rosary beads around his neck, and striking a sanctimonious pose, the Manchester United midfielder's interview spread is billed as the "gospel according to David". It's an amazing public relations gaffe considering Beckham, 23, has only just been forgiven by the nation at large for his World Cup red card against Argentina nine months ago. Now he has almost gone full circle - from crucified to crucifixes, just 48 hours before one of the most sacred days on the calendar worldwide. The Church of England's director of communications, the Rev Dr Bill Beaver, absolved Beckham of insensitivity - but was critical of the photo-shoot's pious overtones. He said last night: "How unfortunate in the rehabilitation of Beckham that he should allow himself to be used in this manner. "At this time of year, this will cause offence to many people. "It's too bad that David Beckham, of all people, should be involved." It is a blow to the marketing machine which has tried to re-invent Beckham's image after he became public enemy No 1 for his dismissal in France. At the height of Beckham-baiting, an effigy of him was strung up outside a south London bar, and he said in the interview: "One minute they wanna hang you, the next you're gonna win the game against Luxembourg - my comeback game. It's so mixed it's unbelievable. "After the World Cup, I felt: why should some people I don't care about ruin my career and my life?" After his sending off, the billboard outside a Baptist church read: "God forgives even David Beckham." Manchester United director of communications Ken Ramsden insisted: "We can say categorically that David wouldn't want to give offence to Christians.'' April 2 - We Want More Children David Beckham and fiancee/new mum Victoria Adams are enjoying their first taste of parenthood so much that they are considering having more children. The patter of more tiny feet could be on the cards for the jet-set couple who are settling into family life after the birth of son Brooklyn. "I think we'd like a couple more, maybe. But I don't think I'd be able to fit any more names on the tongue of my boot," the soccer star told Time Out magazine. I usually have 'Beckham' on the front of my boot, but now it's 'Brooklyn', with 'Beckham' on the back. I think adidas are quite pleased actually!" He told of his fatherly instincts as he posed for a controversial Easter photo-shoot draped in crucifixes for the cover of Time Out magazine. The star, who appears wearing a transparent white shirt and trousers for the pictures, which appeared with the headline "The resurrection of David Beckham", said he and Adams were determined to lead a normal family life and ignore their critics. "It's frustrating when people try to go into our personal lives. We are only 23 and 24 and we've just had a little baby. We want to be parents and enjoy watching him grow up," he said. Many people wanted to interfere and destroy it, but they would not be allowed to do so, he said, adding: "We know the people who care about us and as long as we're happy nothing else matters." He added: "After the World Cup and what had gone on, I just felt: I'm enjoying my football, I love playing at Man United. Why should people I don't care about ruin my career and my life?" April 1 - Geri Unveils A New Look Former Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell unveiled her blonde ambition at the star-studded London Awards ceremony. The ex-Spice Girl showed off a striking new hairdo, with long blonde tresses almost to the middle of her back. Ms Halliwell also swapped the dour greys and blacks of her recent public outfits for a sophisticated grey silky trouser suit that matched her eyes. It was still demure by her former Spice Girl standard but shows she is moving on. She has said she wore black after the group split because she was in mourning. Ironed-straight hair is the latest must-have look for starlets - everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to Halliwell's heroine Madonna is sporting the style. But did no-one tell Ms Halliwell the Jennifer Anniston cut feathered round the face is just too 1997? Even the Friends star has moved on. Ms Halliwell has not quite ditched the flaming red hair and busty outfits that made her famous. She was pictured earlier in the week with scarlet-hued locks and an overflowing 18th century costume for a video shoot for a forthcoming single as she prepares to launch her solo musical career.
